A career spent in strategic marketing and business development enhanced Becky’s ability to listen, interpret and clearly articulate individual or stake-holder objectives. As a business owner for 20 years, she managed projects, people and marketing for retail and B2B clients in a variety of industries. In 2003, an opportunity through BuiltRite Solutions to take the popular Elfa® shelving and storage product owned by The Container Store and rebrand it as a wholesale product for business applications, resulted in creating an independent rep and dealer sales network for the company now owned by TCS. Prior to becoming an ensemble member at ignite 360, Becky was Marketing Director for a regional engineering and architecture firm in the Southwest.

What 1 piece of advice would you give to someone looking to write a brand story?
Know who you are, what do you stand for, why you are necessary and who needs you. Then ask the tough questions: why is any of this important and why should anyone care? Great ideas fall apart when a person cannot address the opposite of their assumptions. To be necessary, desired and unique, you must ask yourself why you are not.
What aspect of your work do you enjoy most right now?
I enjoy the discovery of why, when and how do people do the things they do. Why do people think or do certain things and then how do these activities morph or change over time? Is a behavior or method innate, a tradition or a choice, and why? When patterns or themes begin to present themselves, you get to some pretty interesting ‘aha’ moments and that is fun!
